About

Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my practice and my commitment to you!

Kindred Counseling Center is intentionally designed as a boutique practice in Doylestown, PA, to provide the highest level of care possible. I keep my caseload small so that I can give each client the focused attention they deserve. This is not a large corporation where you are just a number. I don’t take insurance by choice, giving my clients more control, privacy, and flexibility. This approach allows me to create a tailored therapeutic space without the impersonal chaos that comes with corporate therapy mills. You get direct access to me for all aspects of treatment, billing, scheduling, and feedback.

I am committed to creating a warm, inviting, compassionate, and collaborative space for every client as you embark on, or continue, your healing journey.  As a systemic practitioner, I help clients understand how personal patterns, relationship dynamics, and broader life systems influence their challenges and efforts to create change. This approach is central to my work in individual therapy, couples therapy, sex therapy, trauma therapy, and all of our work together.

Kindred Counseling Center was founded by Meghan Jerry, LMFT, CST in 2016.  I proudly serve Doylestown, the surrounding communities, the Greater Philadelphia area, and all of Pennsylvania, offering both in-person therapy and online therapy for residents across the state.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

Let's work together to help you build the life you've imagined for yourself.  Whether you're coming in solo, as a couple, or more, I'm ready to walk with you every step of the way.

My Commitment to You

At Kindred Counseling Center, I am committed to providing the highest standard of care to my clients. My commitment is guided by a foundation of ethical standards, evidence-based approaches, and a dedication to diversity and inclusivity.

My goal is to truly get to know you, in all the complexity that humanness brings—you are more than just the problems you bring to therapy. This is a compassionate, judgment-free space. I show up in the therapy room as my authentic self, and encourage you to do the same. Together, we work as a team of humans—I'm not analyzing you from a one-up position in a tweed jacket.

By adhering to these principles, I cultivate a nurturing environment that supports the healing journey of clients while promoting my own professional growth.

Principles Guiding My Practice

Person-Centered Care

Prioritize the unique needs and goals of each client. Foster an empathetic and respectful relationship that encourages open communication and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process.

Cultural Humility

Embrace and celebrate diversity and inclusivity by recognizing and respecting the varied backgrounds, beliefs, and identities of everyone. Strive to understand how cultural factors influence mental health and therapeutic practices. Commit to lifelong self-reflection and learning, especially regarding biases, assumptions, privileges, and power dynamics and imbalances.

Continuous Learning

Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in psychology. Pursuing ongoing training from reputable sources and enhance knowledge through self-study in reading and professional literature.

Self-Care & Wellness

Value the impact of self-care and emotional well-being in maintaining professional effectiveness. Practice regular self-reflection and seek support when needed.

Ethical Standards

Adhere to the ethical guidelines set forth by recognized professional organizations, including: the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), and the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors.

Maintain confidentiality, informed consent, and professional boundaries.

Evidence-Based Practices

Utilize evidence-based interventions that are tailored to meet the specific needs of clients, ensuring the use of the most effective therapeutic models available.

Supervision & Support

Participate in regular supervision and peer consultations to enhance clinical skills, receive feedback, and foster professional growth.

Community Engagement

Promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the community. Collaborate with local organizations to provide resources and support for individuals in need. Work to create warm, celebratory space for everyone, especially those from marginalized communities.
